2.0404 Term and duties of Secretary of Senate and Clerk of the House.

(a) The Secretary of the Senate and the Chief Clerk of the House serving at the close of a session shall remain in office until the meeting of the next legislative session, to act in their respective capacities until their successors are duly elected and qualified.

(b) It is the duty of the Secretary of the Senate and the Chief Clerk of the House to keep correct daily journals of the proceedings of the Senate and House respectively, to have the custody of all records, accounts and other papers committed to them, and to perform such other duties as are assigned them by the Senate or House respectively.
